Saturday Matinee Review

Today's thought:  Oscar Wilde wrote, "I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read on the train."

Jeff tooled off early this morning to work. A quiet morning has followed. The indoor gang has napped and is in the process of napping again.
I'm revisiting one of Aims and my utimate fav chick flicks, Chantilly Lace. It originally aired on HBO back in the 90's. It's outstanding ensemble cast~ Lindsay Crouse, Jill Eikenberry, Martha Plimpton, Ally Sheedy, Talia Shire, Helen Slaer and JoBeth Williams~ helped to create this funny, moving film that dares to tell the truth about men and women, love and sex, and everything in between. Led by Eikenberry, who hosts the seasonal gatherings of 7 close friends at her mountain cabin, the women share stories~ both hilarious and heartbreaking~ of their divorces, affairs, their jobs, faith, and, ultimately death. It celebrates the strength of friendships. There was no script for this film project! it's all ad lib. The actresses were given direction and this is the collaborative result.
I couldn't locate the really good scenes on youtube, but did stumble upon this fertility ceremonial scene:
